Piedmont / Piemonte (Seasonal: Fall/Winter)

$15.95

We’ve typically debut this blend on the First Day of Autumn when we head into the cooler seasons.

We love this blend and all its cacao hazelnut goodness! Known as the birthplace of Nutella, Piedmont (or Piemonte) in Northern Italy is home to some of the best chocolate artisans in the world. This blend pays respect to this region and our embarrassing obsession with hazelnut and chocolate. Piedmont is worth a taste and a great substitute for dessert. If you were a fan of New England and are sad it’s gone away, you may find this a righteous substitute.

It all starts with a black tea blend for the base. We then hand-roast hazelnuts and dust them in full fat Dutch cocoa and top it off with organic cacao nibs from the Dominican Republic that we procure from our friend Ishmael – a local Chocolatier who owned Chocotenango.

Rich, luscious and not too sweet, this is simply: Favolosa!

A little about the Piedmont region of Italy:“Known in Italian as Piemonte, this region spreads over 9,700 mi² (25.300 sq km) from the Alps to the Mediterranean and counts a population in excess of 4,300,000 inhabitants. Piedmont is the second largest Italian region by extension after Sicily. It borders France in the west, Switzerland in the north, and Lombardy in the east. The southern side is naturally defined by the Apennines mountains which divide the region from the Liguria region.”
